Description
We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. This role involves a variety of tasks in the Accounting, Finance, and Procurement industry, where you will be responsible for overseeing and improving accounting systems, preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts, and maintaining financial records.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee and enhance systems for monthly and quarterly transactions entry into QuickBooks Accounting Software
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close of financial statements
• Coordinate and prepare the annual budget, financial forecasts, and analyze reported variances
• Handle financial records and prepare reports related to Medicaid and Unemployment related billings and claims
• Administer the organization's 403B plan
• Supervise staff to ensure accurate and timely data entry into accounting software and process payroll accurately
• Work closely with the Director of Human Resources on benefits and payroll administration and liaise with external human resource vendors
• Maintain financial records related to grant awards to ensure proper expenditure and participate in preparation of required reports
• Prepare financial statements, projections, and other reports for different stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with DESE and other state and federal regulators with regards to grant compliance and financial reporting
• Develop, coordinate, and supervise procurement and accounts payable functions and policies
• Serve as the primary liaison with all vendors of the organization, including financial institutions, legal advisors, independent auditors, and insurance brokers.
Skills:
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Understanding of Accounting Functions
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Auditing skills
• Knowledge of Budget Processes
Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Proficient in accounting software systems
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing accounting functions
• Proven ability in handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Experience in auditing is required
• Familiarity with budget processes is essential
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Professional certification such as CPA is a plus
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
