Description An international manufacturing and distribution company is looking to grow its team by hiring a Controller through Robert Half. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. Major responsibilities
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll Requirements - Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
CPA or MBA preferred
Deep understanding of month end closings
Computer aided manufacturing experience desired
Command of Analyze Financial Statements
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
