Description A prominent services company is looking to grow its team by hiring a Controller through Robert Half. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis Requirements - Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Strong familiarity with financial reporting
Comprehensive knowledge of JobBOSS
Expertise in month end closings
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
