Description Robert Half has an opening for an ambitious Controller for a reputable company in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Mgt industry. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
CPA/MBA preferred
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Yardi Property Management experience
Section 8 experience desired
Deep understanding of Yardi
Proven knowledge of Yardi Voyager
Yardi Software experience
LIHTC experience preferred
General familiarity with financial statement preparation
Well-founded grasp of Yardi Enterprise
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Great attention to detail
