Uses an appropriate problem-solving approach to plan performance of service. + Assists staff, purchasing manager and department director with the planning, designing and building of materials management information systems. + Differentiates between issues related to software and users, determining which can be resolved and which must be escalated for resolution. + Attends workshops/seminars or obtains knowledge on systems to remain current with system and department operations. + Monitors MMIS usage and performs activities to enhance usage and end user satisfaction. + Performs other duties as assigned. 2. Provides services with consideration of the physical, psycho-social, cultural/spiritual and age-specific needs of those served. + Assists in the identification of operational cost savings opportunities, as well as performance improvement processes, that result from system implementation. + Coordinates efforts of group/team to bring project to successful completion within the time frame identified, as directed by project leader or supervisor. + Coordinates ongoing maintenance and implements system enhancements as applicable. + Maintains item catalog and GTIN table by performing additions, changes and deletions. + Maintains the contract file by performing data entry and interacts with end user departments for ongoing contract maintenance. + Performs contract retrieval and distribution upon end user request. Qualifications: Associate degree in Information Systems, Business, Healthcare Management or equivalent preferred. Minimum two years related work experience in a hospital/health system materials management, purchasing or information systems environment. Analytical ability is needed to evaluate, recommend and implement accurate, efficient and economical solutions to organizational needs/requests. Familiar with the needs of material management, purchasing, accounts payable and purchasing contracts. Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations, policies and procedures, purchasing and supply chain. Excellent problem-solving skills. The ability to work alone with minimal supervision and/or in change-oriented work teams.
