About Us:
SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

Job Responsibilities
Work closely with key business stakeholders to identify opportunity for improvement, develop project plans moving forward and implement changes
Drive safety through the management of SWD, Inc.’s Safety Committee; partnering with front-line employees and management to create a safe work environment
Lead change management with proven analytical and critical thinking skills. Educate business leaders on continuous improvement analytic techniques that drive world class business objectives
Utilize your knowledge of lean/six sigma process improvement methodology to guide teams and solve organizational challenges. Identify inefficient or un-clear process and develop project plans to redesign them by partnering with executive sponsors and shop
Establish KPI’s and methods to ensure all Continuous Improvement programs have clear, quantifiable outcome measurements that drive improved performance
Using your knowledge of Training Within Industry (TWI), work with each department--manage the creation of standard work training documents, training video’s and job performance expectations
Manage the SWD internship program and actively participating in the recruiting, leadership and mentoring of interns
Partner with senior leaders on identifying opportunities and strategies underutilized within the business units
Be results-oriented with the ability to influence change across all departments
Qualifications
3+ years of progressive professional experience in driving business transformation, continuous improvement, project management, and other analytical/business process-related experience
Ability to influence cross functional teams that improve organizational flow across department boundaries
Hands-on manufacturing shop floor experience and Experience regularly interacting with executive leadership teams
Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, Operations/Supply Chain/Engineering.
Teacher/mentor mentality with the ability to build upon the strengths of others to help them develop leadership skills.
