  We are seeking a Consultant to join our Economic Damages & Valuations team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Economic Damages & Valuations team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional Consultants. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of accounting and finance, but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.

  Job Description:

  We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the Consultant position in our Alpharetta office. Assignments generally involve economic damages or business valuation analyses for the purposes of litigation ranging from family law and shareholder disputes to mergers & acquisitions and other specialty engagements.

  Job Responsibilities:

  Financial analysis and modeling, company and industry research, and assistance in preparation of valuation, economic damages, and other expert reports to be utilized for valuation, litigation and compliance purposes

  Assisting in reviewing and refuting expert reports and expert testimony

  Design court exhibits

  Participate in court testimony and depositions as needed

  Managing document requests/production

  Conducting site visits and client interactions

  Attributes & Background:

  Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.

  High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

  Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze large data sets and simplify/translate into a visual format.

  Solid oral and written communications skills (including ability to develop narrative valuation/expert reports and other client communication materials).

  Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in order to meet fluctuating deadlines and pressure situations with incomplete information.

  Strong attention to detail.

  Ability to research industry, economic, and benchmark data and apply to subject companies.

  Maintain the quality of the J.S. Held brand in all oral and written communications.

  Ability to work collectively within teams.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Demonstrated progress towards obtaining relevant professional certifications (ex. CPA, ASA, CVA, ABV, CFA, etc.)

  Experience with litigations support activities or consulting through internships, co-ops, or clubs/organizations

  Familiarity with common business valuation data resources (ex. S&P Capital IQ, Cost of Capital Navigator, RMA, BV Resources, etc.) via internships, co-ops or clubs/organizations.

  The ideal candidate should be reading professional business valuation articles/journals and be current regarding trends, techniques, court rulings and how they can be incorporated into (or removed from) our practice.

  A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
