Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Directlysupervises or monitors laboratory activities to ensure that the work isexecuted on time and in accordance with the client and projectrequirements and within company policies, procedures and standards.Ensures that laboratory personnel are properly trained, supervised andequipped with the necessary tools and equipment to ensure their personalsafety in the office and laboratory. May be required to performconstruction and geotechnical related laboratory testing based onworkload and staffing. Oversees calibration and maintenance of thelaboratory equipment. Supervises the efficient utilization of facilitiesand equipment assigned to the laboratory and makes requests foradditional equipment and facilities as needed to meet the client\'sdemands. Evaluates the performance of all employees within thelaboratory and assists them in their professional development andgrowth, consistent with company policies and procedures. With theassistance from the Materials and/or Geotechnical Department Manager,plans, recruits, selects and provides training for personnel in thedepartment. Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safetyrules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe workenvironment; demonstrates safety practices.
