Our interns work in their course of study under close direction of an experienced supervisor/manager. Regular visits to the field may be required to examine projects and/or test materials. Types of internships may include, but are not limited to:
Construction/Project Management & EstimatingDuration: This is a temporary summer internship. Official start and end dates flexible based on student's availability.Wage: $18 - 22/hr DOEApplication Process: Applications will be accepted until 2/29. Application review will begin 3/1. Selections will be made by 3/15.Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Coordinate with agencies and traffic control subcontractorsAssist in preparation and setup of job site workCoordinate work with subcontractors, superintendentsAssist with generating change ordersAssist in tracking daily subcontract and prime contract quantitiesParticipate in production meetingsProvide ongoing project supervisionAttend construction meetings with owners, utilities, and subcontractorsPerform grade checksAssist with job quantity measurementsAssist with final billing quantity measurementPlan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsiteLearn Estimating and Bid Tracking SoftwareLearn to read specifications and plansAssist with reviewing and analyzing data relative to a project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bidComplete material and quantity takeoffsPerform various tests on aggregate production, asphalt mix, and ready-mix concrete: gradation, moisture, oil content, density, and strengthMaterial sampling: plant and fieldQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be entering their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year and currently enrolled in a Construction Management, or related program of studyMust have a current and valid driver's licenseMust be available to work approximately 40 hours per weekAbility to follow verbal and written instructionDetail orientedAbility to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment.Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing. Per RCW 49.44.240 this position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.Must have current US Authorization to workCompany Benefits:
