Construction Laborer. 8 temporary/full-time positions with Nate HolyokeBuilders, Inc. from 4/1/2024 - 9/30/2024.
Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Assistscraft workers by performing duties requiring less skill. Duties includeusing, supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work areasand equipment at the end of the day. Mark reference points onconstruction materials, install wooden structural components under thedirection of a carpenter, measure materials or objects for installationor assembly, cut wood components for installation, and move constructionor extraction materials to locations where they are needed. Loads andunloads equipment and building materials from trucks.
Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday workrequired, when necessary. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing requiredof foreign and domestic workers upon suspicion of use.
On-the-job training will be provided to the worker.
Employer pays in advance or reimburses workers in the first workweek forall government-mandated and visa-related fees (excluding passport fees).For non-local workers (i.e., residing outside normal commutingdistance), employer reimburses inbound travel costs at the 50% point inthe contract (unless paid in advance). Inbound travel includestransportation costs from workers permanent residence or place ofrecruitment, a daily meal subsistence (based on rates required by law,currently \$15.46 per day minimum or \$59.00 per day maximum for workerswith acceptable receipts), and reasonable lodging costs, if applicable.Travel reimbursements based on least-cost common carrier rate. Employerprovides or pays outbound travel costs upon completion of the contractperiod or early dismissal, except where the worker has subsequentemployment.
Employer guarantees to offer hours equal to at least three-fourths ofthe workdays in each 12-week period of the total contract period,beginning with the workers first workday and ending on the contract enddate or any extension thereof. Employer may count all hours worked, aswell as any hours offered within the standard work schedule that aworker chooses to not work, up to the maximum number of daily hours onthe job order.
Workers who voluntarily abandon employment are not entitled to paymentfor outbound travel costs or the full three-fourths period guaranteedescribed above.
Employer provides without charge all tools, supplies and equipment(incl. uniforms, if applicable) necessary to perform duties assigned. Ifrequested, employer helps non-local workers secure optional worker-paidlodging.
JOB LOCATION:
18 River Field Road Trenton, ME 04605 and multiple worksites withinHancock county.
Employer provides incidental transport between job sites. Employeroffers free daily transportation to/from worksite from designatedpick-up location. Use of transportation is voluntary.
WAGE INFORMATION:
Wage rate is no less than \$22.00 per Hour. Overtime hours vary at:\$33.00 per Hour.
Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at employer\'s discretion, based onindividual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure. A singleworkweek will be used to compute wages due. The payroll period isweekly. Workers are paid by check on Thursday. The standard workschedule is from 7:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Employer will offer 45 hours per week. Employer may offer more than thestated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and otherconditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exactworking hours.
Employer makes all payroll deductions required by law. Employer does notenvision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. Voluntary deductionsmust be pre-authorized in writing and may nclude the following:Employer deducts reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilitiesbased on number of occupants for workers electing to reside inemployer-provided housing (cost TBD). Employer may also deduct forvoluntary boot purchase program.
