Position Summary:
The Concierge maintains a consistent professional and warm attitude over the telephone, greeting visitors, residents, and family members. The Concierge interacts, listens and engages in conversations with residents, family and friends of elders, employees, volunteers, and prospective elders & family members with a warm and welcoming demeanor. The concierge creates a hospitable environment in the lobby area and provides high quality service in a collaborative team effort. Responsibilities include:
Opens and closes the reception desk and properly secures all files, keys, and equipment in the office area.
Answers all incoming telephone calls in a courteous fashion and reroutes as appropriate, addresses questions from family, vendors, etc.
Communicates to the appropriate parties, promptly and clearly, all messages and material directed to them through the business office.
Receives all persons who enter the campus in a courteous manner, informs, guides, directs, or otherwise assists residents, visitors, staff, or vendors tactfully and congenially to present the best possible image of the community.
Engages with families, visitors on places to stay (hotels), suggests local restaurants, provides directions if needed, is aware of internal events that may be of interest to them or residents.
Maintains workstation and equipment in a safe and organized manner.
Process guestroom reservations on Groupwise Calendar and in the Guest room Logbook. If guest suite is not available, informs them of discounted hotel rates for St. John’s visitors.
Performs specific work duties or secretarial services as assigned by Administrative Assistant
Must be familiar with responsibilities of both reception areas, Hawthorne & Briarwood.
Evening & weekend Concierge will process information on in-house TV (Touchdown); Briarwood Day Concierge will process on an as needed basis.
Maintains Communication logbooks, reference notebooks & policy and procedure notebooks.
Maintains in-house mail delivery, inter-office/campus mail, deliveries of newspapers, personal deliveries, UPS, flowers, packages, prescription drug deliveries, etc.
Process requests for brochures and mailing information packet requests to Marketing.
Qualifications:
Excellent customer service, customer relations and telephone etiquette.
Ability to keep a positive attitude when visitors are sometimes upset and under stress.
Ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
Email, MS office, general computer proficiency.

Pay
Commensurate with experience: $15.50-$17.00 hourly.
