Concessions Service Manager II
Position Summary
Manage the activities related to the concession operation at the following MSU athletic and multi-purpose facilities: Spartan Stadium, Munn Ice Arena, Breslin Student Events Center, Agriculture Pavilion, and Olympic event sites. Trains and supervises scheduled student employees and service group organizations. Handles procurement of food and supplies, assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensures departmental operations standards are met and other duties as assigned. Monitors financial reports to ensure budget expectations are met, assists in the development and execution of marketing and advertising. Coordinates new product development and updates Convivial recipe pricing.
All positions in SLE are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a person has an approvedremote work agreementto work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, or vocational school in a field related to the area of responsibility; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervising operational activities related to the area of employment (which includes supervision of multiple concession operations at medium or large facilities, with attendance ranging from 2,000-75,000 guests)
OR
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in a field related to the area of responsibility; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in supervising operational activities related to the area of employment (which includes supervision of multiple concession operations at medium or large facilities, with attendance ranging from 2,000-75,000 guests) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in management of multiple concession facilities. Knowledge and experience in coordinating the preparation and stocking of multiple concessions stands, general food production, food service sanitation, catering, human resources, ordering supplies/material, projections. Experience in recruitment, training and scheduling of student work force and service group organizations.
