Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Hardware Asset Management Techniciantowork in a distribution center at a customer site and manage IT hardware assets throughout their lifecycle. Typical duties include receiving, processing and unpacking goods, signing for packages, preparing computer kits for distribution, updating inventory records, completing weekly physical stock inventories, and reporting on and basic troubleshooting of defective goods.This position is located in Washington, DC and is a fully on-site position.
Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of hardware asset management throughout the lifecycles of approximately 18,000 laptop and desktop computers, peripherals, network printers and mobile devices.
Utilizes asset management tools such as bar code scanners to perform full weekly stock inventories
Provides outstanding customer service by maintaining attention to detail, completing assigned work on time, and maintaining an efficient and effective work environment
Assists Desktop Support Technicians with deploying assets to end-users
Reviews and completes Incident and Service Request tickets in ServiceNow within documented service levels
Finalizes all outgoing shipments, validating shipping labels and contents are complete and match the packing slip prior to package sealing
Receives equipment from Desktop Support Technicians and/or UPS delivery and processes inventory and ServiceNow records within 2 hours of receipt
Regularly reviews, validates, and updates records in the organization’s proprietary billing and inventory system
Maintains the professional appearance of the Asset area by organizing equipment and ensuring the area is free of all debris
Provides technology refresh support
Assists in developing and documenting improvements to current processes, creating/updating KAs and SOPs
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Hardware Asset Management team
Qualifications
High School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Strong interpersonal skills required
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and be able to handle pressure and changing priorities. Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers is crucial.
Some moderately heavy lifting (computers, monitors, printers, etc.) is required
Must be amenable to shift changes dictated by program and customer requirements (supported hours are 6:00am-6:00pm; no overtime)
Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional office environment with demonstrable excellence in customer service
General computer hardware, Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 knowledge required
Preferred Skills and Experience
Dell hardware (laptop, desktop, tablet, 2-in-1) and Apple iPhone experience a plus

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

USD $40,850.00 - USD $62,000.00 /Yr.
