OVERVIEW:
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. OIT oversees large scale enterprise telecommunications platform that supports critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies.

ABOUT THE JOB:
DHHS DevOps1 team supports twelve (12) different applications for Offices in the Department of Health and Human Services, including Aging and Disability Services, Behavioral Health, MaineCare Services, DHHS Finance, and others. Some applications are being actively developed and others are either being maintained or poised for upgrades.

We are looking for someone with excellent programming skills, strong analysis and troubleshooting, great customer service, a good sense of humor, and a commitment to state service.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a Computer Programmer you will design, develop, test, and maintain application and database code. You will be part of a team working together to resolve complex problems and provide our business partners new system and data integration functionality. You will manage your assigned projects with supervision. You will frequently partner with technical staff and end-users to test and refine your work. This position is in Augusta, Maine.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:(Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).
An Associate Degree in Computer Information Science or equivalent industry certification -OR- 12 total credit hours in computer programming -OR- 1 year experience in Application System Development.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience and/or ability to provide support and development in a team environment.
Proficiency working with Oracle or SQL Server
Experience with C#, ASP.NET and/or JAVA preferred
Knowledge of writing technical/non-technical End-User Documentation
Ability to learn new technologies and business practices.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
The selected candidate will be required to sucessfully pass the required background checks as a condition of employment.
