Conduct applied research on many different tasks/subtasks of government contracts and internal research and development projects[Perform engineering tasks to support the development of composite components and structures for use in aerospace systems, launch vehicles and other space systems. Tasks include, but are not limited to: ]{helvetica=""}Formulate, design, and analyze conceptual designs of aerospace products and systemsDesign, analyze, and fabricate tooling,test articles, fixtures, and molds for composite structures and pressure vesselsDevelop design criteria for aerospace products and systemsEvaluate designs for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and GTL quality standardsAssist with load, burst, cycle and qualification testing of composite structures and aerospace systems componentsAssist in writing technical reports or other documentation for use by engineering staff, management, and/or customersProvide technical guidance to engineers, technicians, design and management teamSupport business development efforts such as writing proposals, meeting customers, and identifying business opportunitiesSupport GTL management as needed.[Desired Skills/Experience:[Since GTL offers such a diverse line of products and services, candidates are expected to be flexible and comfortable working on multiple assignments with varying subject matter. This includes creating a prototype all the way from the concept and design stage to actually performing hands-on work and physically building the hardware and systems. Candidates should be comfortable working with both hand tools and power tools.
