Job Summary:The Composite Blade Technician II will be responsible for the internal andexternal inspections and repair of fiberglass and composite blades,spinners, and nacelles from all categories. The position will also beresponsible for providing maintenance support and perform large componentreplacements of wind turbine generators. The technicians will be required todocument the findings and assemble all associated paperwork as required to beposted for further action.You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCorevision and align with our organization's core values.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Inspect and photograph internal and external blade damage, documentfindings, and assemble all associated paperwork as required to be posted forfurther action by EngineeringPreform coating and minor structural repairs on internal and external bladesurfaces, leading and trailing edge repair while following guidelinesprovided by Engineering with locations both up tower and down towerUtilize blade access platforms, boom trucks, and rope access at heights of300ft or moreHelp in all areas of site preparation (i.e. coordination of labor andmaterials) with minimal supervisionDocument all work performed using computer- based service reporting proceduresCommunicate site status to engineering, customers, and managementProvide maintenance support and preform large component replacement of windturbine generatorsProvide wind turbine generator LOTO (Lock Out & Tag Out) supportTravel may be requiredAbility and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as requiredby field assignmentsAbility and willingness to work in all weather conditionsAbility and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Required Qualifications & Experience:High School Diploma / GEDMinimum of 2-3 years of composite repair experience or minimum 1-2 years ANDGraduate of a wind Tech/and or Composite Program.Training will include and must have successfully completed
