About Community Engagement Representative

  Description

  Leidos, a global leader in technology and innovation, is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our Corporate Communications team as a Community Engagement Representative in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of strengthening Leidos' presence and engagement within the Huntsville community.

  Key Responsibilities:

  This person will play an important role in supporting enterprise-wide corporate responsibility efforts while also helping to develop local strategies specific to the Huntsville region. This role will help build relationships, strengthen the Leidos brand, and implement company-wide initiatives.

  Strengthen Community Presence:

  •Develop and implement strategies to enhance Leidos’ visibility and engagement in the Huntsville area.

  •Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

  •Represent Leidos at various community functions, serving as a face of the company in local initiatives and events.

  Engage at Local Chamber and Community Organization Events:

  •Actively participate in Huntsville Chamber of Commerce events and other relevant local gatherings.

  •Coordinate and manage the participation of Leidos attendees, ensuring effective representation of the company.

  •Build relationships with POCs at key Huntsville organizations.

  Coordination with Government Affairs:

  •Collaborate closely with the Government Affairs team when events involve local officials or members of Congress.

  •Ensure that Leidos’ participation in such events aligns with our corporate goals and regulatory compliance.

  Community Engagement and CR Initiatives:

  •Support the Director of Corporate Responsibility in executing CR activities and programs in the Huntsville area.

  •Implement volunteer activities and community service projects, leading and inspiring team involvement around Leidos’ core focus areas.

  •Look for opportunities to leverage overall Leidos strategy in the Huntsville area

  Qualifications:

  •Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. Additional years experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

  •Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate setting.

  •Strong understanding of local dynamics and stakeholders in Huntsville.

  •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.

  •Proven ability to organize, plan, and execute events and meetings.

  •Flexibility to attend events outside regular business hours.

  •Fluent with Microsoft Office tools/programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  •Ability to balance competing priorities

  Pay Range:

  Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00

  The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
