The Department of Life Design Lab located at the Homewood campus is seeking a Communications Associate. Johns Hopkins University has developed an ambitious vision to continue to integrate life design, experiential learning, and mentoring in the academic and co-curricular learning experience for all students and postdoctoral fellows. This position reports to the Director of Operations with the Life Design Lab (LDL). This individual will manage all marketing and communication services for Life Design Lab, as well as strategic planning, data analysis, and presentations for Life Design Lab stakeholders, including students, employers, alumni, faculty, development, and staff. The Communications Associate provides training and guidance to Life Design Educators, oversees and manages all Life Design Lab and career materials, helps to reinforce brand compliance, and ensures the streamlining of messaging into and outside of LDL. In addition to working with Integrated Learning & Life Design (ILLD) communications and brand manager to ensure consistency in messaging.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Strategy Development
Develop and implement effective communication strategies that promote brand awareness and stakeholder satisfaction.
Create communication and marketing strategies for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
Create strategy and multimedia content for implementation across communications channels and to a variety of audiences which include students, parents, alumni, staff, faculty, and those outside of the JHU sphere.
Provide relevant ongoing training, messaging, and growth opportunities for staff and student workers.
Continually measure and review the performance of communications efforts; report on key metrics and trends, making adjustments where necessary.
Oversee messaging between schools and departments to convey a unified voice over the entire Office of Integrative Learning and Life Design.
Coordinate with designers, photographers, printers, and other vendors as needed.
Oversee Life Design Lab’s Communications budget.
Continuously stay up to date on the latest in communications technology.
Update website.
Publications & Marketing
Manage the successful execution of communications campaigns and related materials from conceptualization to completion; ensure quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of all components.
Produce engaging and informative written, visual, and multimedia content in support of communications objectives.
Oversee day-to-day management of key divisional social media channels; identify opportunities for collaboration with other offices/departments and provide guidance in the application of university guidelines.
Department liaison with external contractors who support quality Life Design Lab work: designers, photographers, videographers, printing, and materials providers.
Collaborate with major school offices and departments (Parents and Family programs, Admissions, Whiting School of Engineering, Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, etc.) on all communications-related initiatives.
Maintain, collaborate with and continuously update promotional media matrixes across JHU campuses.
Web Design and Content Management
Manage content calendars, branded artwork, imagery, and messaging on Life Design Lab websites.
Develop and lead strategic plans and campaigns related to website visual design, usability, and multimedia aspects.
Guide effective SEO tactics, develop and enforce social media guidelines, and oversee the development and creation of social media content.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Four years of related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: Min $62,300 - Max $109,000 Annually ($74,984 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
