　　The Communications and Technology Specialist performs responsiblecommunications and community engagement activities to facilitate communityaccess to programs and services provided by the LCDHE. This position alsoassists in the development and implementation of strategies to promotedepartment activities and inform the community through the press, includingan emphasis on social media and our website. In addition, it supportsdepartmental technology systems and applications related to communications.

　　Develops and implements internal and external communication plans andstrategies.Prepares content for and/or designs E-newsletters, brochures, signage,and various outreach materials.Develops, manages, and analyzes web and social media content andinteraction in conformance with all communication guidelines and brandstandardAssists and provides information to the media including press releases, andmay coordinate news conferences, radio, television, and print interviewsas directed.Coordinates, prepares and/or presents materials for presentation toschools, civic groups, professional associations, community events,and other interested parties about Larimer County programs and services.Facilitates and participates in outreach events and activities; representsthe County/Department.Responds to inquiries from the public, news media, or others by providinginformation directly or referring to the appropriate staff person.Promotes and markets programs and services in written communications such asnewsletters.Supports effective working relationships with members of the news media andcommunication representatives from other agencies.Establishes and maintains open communication with county departments and theirdesignated communications staff.Monitors news and commentary and distributes to appropriate parties.Conducts community assessments, internal communication campaigns, and dataanalysis when necessary. 　　We are looking for a candidate that will:

　　Be familiar with general office practices and procedures.Use routine software and business applications including, but not limitedto, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and databases.Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.Have regular, predictable attendance.Demonstrate excellent writing skills for promotional-type opportunities,award nominations, educational brochures, rack cards, and other publicinformation collateral.Complete organization of various news media and the practical need of mediarepresentatives for information, when assigned or askedUse correct English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.Be skilled in website content, social media, basic photography and basicvideo production.Graphic standards and design, video production and editing software packagesincluding Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Premiere Elements.Act as an official representative of the County professionally with local,state, and national agencies and organizations as assigned.

　　QualificationsAll candidates will be screened for the following required minimumqualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualificationslisted as required will be eliminated from the process.

　　Two (2) years of experience working with design programs, such asIndesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop required.Three (3) years of experience in a directly related field or in theperformance of similar duties and responsibilities required.Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and/orexperience, from an accredited college or university with major courseworkin Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related fieldrequired. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year foryearPossess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility andaround the community as needed and required.Benefits
