About Communications Advisor - Live Event Production

  Position Overview

  As a Communications Lead, within PNC’s Marketing & Communications Group, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA at Tower at PNC Plaza and will support virtual events, on-site events and off-site events.

  Responsibilities require time in office with some travel to various locations for off-site events. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager’s discretion. Whether in the office or on location, you will be a technical lead for all aspects of the live events including video, audio, and lighting.

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

   Implement strategic priorities and initiatives through live event communications.

   Play a key role in live productions as a member of the event crew.

   Collaborate with lines of business to ensure a successful event.

   Monitor events to troubleshoot any potential issues and ability to react quickly to problems.

   Schedule and coordinate AV contractors for all events.

   Coordinate with PNC’s Accessibility Team to schedule live captioning and American Sign Language Interpreters for live events.

   Create and execute project plans.

   For off-site events, collaborate with the line of business and then work with the venue to meet the needs and expectations of the business.

   Ability to problem solve under pressure

   Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications (including Microsoft Office Suite and Sharepoint)

   Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (including, but not limited to Photoshop, Premiere)

   General knowledge of virtual hosting platforms (including, but not limited to WebEx, Teams, Zoom)

   General knowledge of audio/video broadcast equipment (Ross Video Equipment, Dante Routing and RTMP streaming)

   Eagerness to learn new technology, systems, and processes

  WORK EXPERIENCE

   Minimum of 5-10 years broadcast control room and live event experience

   Previous event production experience is strongly preferred

  EDUCATION, TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media Production or other Communications-related field

  • In lieu of degree, years of relevant experience may be considered

  Consults in the implementation of communication strategies; plans, researches, and develops of content for increasingly complex communications initiatives.

  Identifies issues and opportunities, consults with organization on all aspects of communication, and engages other parts of the organization to ensure strategic alignment, clarity, and accuracy of message.

  Coordinates final review and approval before internal or external communications are released.

  May lead project teams, influences outcomes, and evaluates success as appropriate.

  Leads preparation and synthesis of communications data; presents to management for decisioning.

  Effective Communications – Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  Influencing – Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

  Media Channel Management – Knowledge of different media channels (e.g. TV, radio, press, etc.); ability to evaluate and select the most preferable media outlets to ensure information is effectively delivered to target audiences.

  Organizational Communications – Knowledge of and ability to utilize the means, tools, techniques and media to communicate information about the organization internally and externally.

  Planning: Tactical, Strategic – Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  Work Experience

  Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
