Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commissioning Manager to lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of contracted Commissioning Supervisors to plan, execute, and test new construction power plant commissioning within defined budgets, schedules, and environmental targets. The Commissioning Manager will interact with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, OEM equipment suppliers, off-taker Utilities, regional transmission system operators, plant operations, and staff organizations to develop a fully integrated commissioning plan and manage issues as they arise.
Lead a team in the planning, execution, and testing of new construction of solar power plant commissioning within defined budgets, schedules, and environmental targetsInteract with solar EPC Contractors, engineering firms, OEM equipment suppliers, off-taker Utilities, regional transmission system operators, plant operations, and staff organizations to develop a fully integrated commissioning plan and manage issues as they ariseConduct system turnover walkdowns and execute verification and validation checks to ensure a quality product meeting the project's performance objectives is accepted from the construction contractor(s) in the required sequence, tested, and turned over to plant operationsEnsure commissioning activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and on scheduleDevelop and manage commissioning budgets and schedulesIdentify and mitigate risks associated with commissioning activitiesEnsure that all commissioning activities are performed in compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirementsManage and mentor a teamExperience with DCS, SCADA, fiber optic, PLC, and MODBUS communicationsCommissioning experience in all disciplines on utility scale solar sitesTraining certifications that can be accomplished within 90 days of employment: OSHA 30, CPR/BLS/First Aid, NFPA 70EExperience with substation commissioningExperience with BESSAbility to develop a first time energization plan incorporating solar farm and substation```{=html}
```- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field experience.- At least 3 years of experience in commissioning of power generation facilities, including solarand energy storage projects- Advanced knowledge of NETA, NERC, IEEE, NFPA70E, and industry prudent workmanship and test requirements- Advanced knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems and electrical safety for systems up to 1500VDC and 230KV AC- Working knowledge of safety protocols, renewables/electric utility P&C systems (relaying, communication, networking, RTU, SCADA, CT, PT), and planned outage management processes- Experience and knowledgeable on various utility scale inverter manufacturers- SMA, Power Electronics, Tmeics, and Sun Grow- Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to commissioning of power generation facilities- Experience managing a team of commissioning professionals- Ability to be both a switch man and site energy coordinator
