Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) division is hiring for a Senior Manager, Sales Enablement to be based in our Pleasanton, California or Austin, Texas office. This role will be responsible for optimizing salesforce effectiveness and developing high-impact, scalable training programs that will position our sales organization to grow revenue, win market share, and achieve margin goals. The role will support our global commercial organizations with an initial regional focus on the US market. This is an impactful, dynamic, and high visibility position that will materially impact the business. This position reports to the Global Head of Commercial Excellence.

  What You Will Do:

  • Design and execute value-based sales training programs to support commercial readiness for product launches

  • Develop programs for all levels of the sales organization including new hire and manager training to accelerate time to revenue-generation

  • Deploy best-in-class techniques to deliver training programs that are engaging, actionable, sticky, scalable, and results driven

  • Select and assess external vendors who can assist with deploying high quality programs and interactive online/ virtual tools and methods

  • Organize, plan and schedule training events and co-develop materials

  • Partner closely with Sales leaders to ensure buy-in and input into all curriculum, including identification of candidates for selective training programs

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Education to ensure integration with product / technical training

  • Collaborate with customers to ensure trainings reflect customer expectations and involve them where appropriate

  • Align with HR to evaluate competency levels and create training strategy to address critical gaps

  • Develop key performance indicators for sales training programs, track effectiveness, and demonstrate strong financial ROI

  • Collaborate with sales training colleagues across HF and Abbott to leverage existing programs, capabilities, materials, platforms, and best practices

  • Present program strategy, metrics, and impact to executive leadership

  Evolve and deploy Regional Sales Director Training program to create “ready now” RSD from the individual contributor roles.What You Will Bring:

  • Experience designing and implementing sought-after sales training programs for both new hires and seasoned professionals

  • Experience as a high-performing sales representative or sales manager within pharmaceuticals or medical devices

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceuticals or medical device sales process

  • Excellent presentation skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to motivate, teach and inspire the sales professionals at all levels

  • Adept at facilitating role playing and other types of training formats

  • Ability to translate business and organizational objectives into scalable training programs (e.g., train the trainer) that maximize the value of investments

  • Self-starter with strong leadership skills and focus on results

  • Team-player who works well with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, demanding, and changing environment

  • Project management ability, attention to detail, and dedication to continuous improvement

  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner

  • Strong organizational, planning, follow-up skills, and ability to hold others accountable

  • Ability to travel, approximately 70%

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years healthcare industry experience

  • 3+ years leading a team of direct reports in medical devices preferred

  • 3+ years as a high-performing sales representative or sales manager in pharmaceuticals or medical devices

  The base pay for this position is $138,000.00 – $257,500.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
