JOB REQUIREMENTS: Scope: The CNC Programmer develops numericallycontrolled machine programs with the help of AutoCAD software. Must readand interpret blueprints and specifications to accurately programmachinery. Must be proficient in G & M code, and program machinery inthe most expedient, efficient and quality manner, and update programs asneeded. Duties: Writes programs and modifies existing ones for increasedefficiency. Reviews 3D CAD design blueprints. Makes calculations forprogramming including where materials should be cut. Translatesinstructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.Communicates with engineers and staff who will use the programs. Checkscompleted programs by running simulations or tests. Determines sequenceof operations in a program. Chooses cutting tools that will be needed.Analyzes job order and performs necessary calculations. Analyzes andselects speeds and cutting tools for programs. Responsible for toolingpurchases and maintaining stock of correct tooling including sharpeningand or maintenance. Makes improvements to set up times for a task andcontouring of complex shapes. Simplifies tooling time for workers andincreases productivity. Monitors all programs to make sure they followblueprint instructions and safely and successfully complete the task.Complies with all safety rules and regulations. Program for multipleshift organization. Communicates with employees at all levels to ensurethe highest quality product is produced within the production goal set.May need to work extended/flexible hours to meet critical programingneeds. Follows the rules and established written policies. Assist intraining of machine operators. Enforces safety policies and procedures.Attends meetings and offers input and solutions on CNC productionrelated issues. Operates machinery as required by the CNC supervisor.And or when programing load is low. Prepares reports and records asnecessary to document departmental activities and/or provide informationto other management personnel. Other departmental interactions. Otherrelated duties as may be assigned. Physical Requirements: CNCProgrammers are required to spend time in a climate controlled officeenvironment in front of a computer screen keyboarding and manipulation amouse. From time to time they might walk and stand if operating amachine. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, push and pull up to 50 lbs.occasionally. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Educationand Training Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent required,Associate\'s degree in CNC programming, a computer-related field or amechanical field. Experience with programming and knowledge ofelectronics and machine tools is required. Computer skills and softwareknowledge of AutoCAD, Router Cim, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Wordrequired.
