Your profile
The primary purposeof this position is to set up and operate manual and CNC (Complex NumericControl) horizontal milling machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes in order toperform precise operations on a variety of parts and components.
Tools used includebut are not limited to various Horizontal boring mills and associated equipmentsuch as: milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saw, inside and outsidemicrometers, vernier gauges, dial indicators, wrenches, blocks, jacks, readoutsand P.C., cranes, etc.
Job duties require abasic knowledge in the use of shop mathematics, together with the use ofcomplicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, varioustypes of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generallyapplicable in a particular or specialized occupation.
Prefer 5-7 yearsapplied trades training, such as use of blueprints, CNC equipment, G & M code, manual machining etc. Mustalso be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or writteninstructions. Must qualify for and maintain appropriate equipmentcertifications of Siemens Energy (i.e. Fork truck, crane, etc.).
Your responsibilities
Work frommanufacturing information, drawings, written and/or verbal instructions andperform such operations as:
· Using materialhandling devices, loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists craneoperator.
· Set up machines byinstalling tooling, adjusting to proper machine settings, feeds, speeds, etc.,per job documentation and drawing specifications; assure proper toolingpre-sets.
· Secure work pieceto layout or and/or surface with use of the plumb bob, set up blocks,surface/height gauge, dowel indicators/pins or optical leveling oraligning equipment.
· Follow establishedprocedures on lineups, manuscripts, programs and tooling sheets to operatemachine.
· Use manual,semi-automatic or automatic controls to perform machining operations, such as:mill, drill, ream, bore, tap, turn, face, groove, radius, turn, and grind, etc.
· Perform in-processintegrity checks, as required, in order to maintain specific drawingtolerances.
· Conduct in processtesting and charting operational information and/or recording data as required.
· Make any necessarytool changes or offsets, and therefore, re-orients machine, as required.
· Remove chips fromwork piece and for inspections, as required.
· Deburr and cleanswork, as required.
· Performpreventative maintenance and may correct minor machine malfunctions.
· Return tooling,attachments, fixtures, etc., to proper location upon completion of operation.
· Complete logsheet, downtime records, and other information, as required by data collectionsystem.
· Adapt to varioussituations and adjusts to shifting priorities.
