CNC Machine Operator
Weekend Shift:
Friday, Saturday & Sunday
6:00am - 6:30pm
Work 36 hours, paid for 40 hours!
Shift Differential for Weekend Shift: $4.00/hr!!
Position Summary
The role of the machinist is to set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) and/or manual Bridgeport machines to machine parts with no assistance. Machining of tooling, production parts, and fixtures within the confines of scheduled delivery dates and customer satisfactions. The machinist must be able to communicate with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
Essential Functions
Works independently to operate on or more CNC and/or Bridgeport machines
Handles changeovers without assistance
Performs offsets without assistance
Accomplish basic setups without supervision
Deburr machined parts accurately while maintaining processing and production goals
Read and write basic code at the machines without assistance
Start and observe machine to detect any malfunctions or out of tolerance machining
Perform basic quality inspections using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure that part is in conformance to print specifications
Fill out daily production and conformance paperwork
Ensure that all responsibilities and functions performed are in accordance with company procedures and meet the quality standards in place
Adhere to safety manual and work instructions related to safety
Willingness to communicate with other team members, share knowledge, and train fellow teammates when needed
Organize, maintain and clean work area per housekeeping expectations
Work in the assembly area as needed
Skills and Attributes
Ability to read and comprehend a variety of instruction, including blueprints, diagrams and work instructions
Knowledge and understanding of machining concepts but not limited to G/M codes, setups, speeds and feeds, tooling, etc.
Knowledge operating and comprehending inspection tools to ensure quality and conformance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Self-motivated and ability to work well with others
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Some technical school education
Two or more years related experience
