About CNB Bank Payments Officer

   Description:

  The VP/SVP Payments Officer's focus will be to lead all aspects of and advise the following teams which support critical payment delivery channels to all divisions of CNB: Wire Transfer Services, ACH Services, Card Experience (including debit and credit card), Online ACH and Wire Origination as well as other Digital Payment solutions. Evaluate and monitor workflows to ensure efficient processes are in place and that CNB's selected technology partners are being fully leveraged to maintain pace with CNB's continued growth and development, meanwhile creating efficiencies and automation, while maintaining a strong internal control and risk framework to further protect the resources of clients and CNB.

  PROVIDE ENHANCED CLIENT SERVICE

  Direct and develop accountability for the success of the departments listed to ensure a team of skillful, knowledgeable staff who can exceptionally support and assist in business development efforts. Create a sustainable balance of client experience and risk / fraud mitigation for CNB and set a precedent of accountability and reliability for the teams by leading by example.

  FOSTER OUR CULTURE

  Be the subject matter expert for current and future forms of payments by actively participating in and seeking out continuing education as well as the pursuit of applicable Accreditations and Certifications.

  Promote open and direct communication, through positive interactions and collaboration within your functions and with other Bank departments and leaders, focusing on finding solutions to meet the needs of clients and peers. Lead / coordinate communication and education of CNB teams on evolving Payment solutions and opportunities for Payment sales and service.

  Seek opportunities to support volunteerism in local and community events, increase the Bank's outreach and foster new business.

  PROMOTE DIGITAL AWARENESS

  Possess and display a positive demeanor and approach in managing and embracing change. Continually evaluate solutions and processes to effectively use technology for efficiencies and accuracy. Continue to supervise workflows / technology solutions to ensure processes maintain scalability with growth of the Organization. Support the ongoing Payments product development and implementation of new solutions and their integration with operational processes, through collaboration with related third-party processors / partners.

  FOCUS ON ACCURACY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL

  Ensure the Payments Teams are driven by detailed written policy and procedures in all areas and workflows. Be the subject matter expert for Payment solutions and strategies for the Bank as well as how policies and procedures are applied to best serve clients and peers. Ensure appropriate functioning and effective internal controls are in place for applicable regulatory and / or financial risk to the Bank within the Payments space. Maintain effective communication and interaction with related audits and examinations, through responses to findings or issues and oversight of appropriate remediation when required. Work to develop, measure and maintain Service Level Standards within all areas of influence.

  SEEK PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

  With the continued development and evolution of this space within the banking industry, the expectation for this position is to either possess or attain relevant Certification(s), including but not limited to Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) and Certified Payment Professional (CPP).

  Requirements:

  QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job requirement satisfactorily and a skills inventory is listed below. A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a college or university; or four years or more of related experience and / or training; or equi alent combination of education and experience. Lending or loan related, back-office deposit and cash management operations, experience preferred. 5+ years of related experience preferred. Successful completion of required background checks is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  LANGUAGE SKILLS: Possesses professional communication and interpersonal skills to coach, write and speak effectively both one-on-one and before groups of clients or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate to clients directly and effectively. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents.

  TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Proficient in or prior experience with core processing system(s), reporting and monitoring systems, client referral or queue processing solutions, Microsoft Office programs, and any other computer programs pertinent to performing job duties. Ability to use telephone systems and possess good computer skills including email, internet and intranet use.

  MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve challenging problems involving several variables in a standardized situation.

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position operates in a professional office environment with considerable time spent at a desk using office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. Noise level is moderate with constant communication and interactions with others. Ability to travel on occasion to all market areas and attend seminars or training sessions offsite.
