JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Clinical Research Assistant IIPurpose Under general supervision, assist in various administrative anddata collection aspects of clinical research studies as part of theCommunity Neurotrauma Team in the Department of Neurosurgery\'s Centerfor Neurotrauma Research. Primary Functions * Collect data fromresearch participants, including performing clinical assessments (e.g.,interview and questionnaire assessments of symptoms, neuropsychologicaltests of cognitive functioning), coordinating with research nurses toobtain blood samples from participants, and coding data from patientmedical records. * Process and handle blood biospecimens according toresearch protocols. * Review patient medical charts and approachparticipants on in-patient hospital units including the Emergency Roomto screen for study inclusion/exclusion criteria. * Call subjects tocoordinate patient visits to MCW or conduct research visits via phone.* Under the direction of the study coordinator or principalinvestigator, assist in enrolling patients in research studies usingprocedures compliant with the study protocol and institutional reviewboard (IRB) approval. * Compile outreach packets, help draft andmaintain study recruitment and protocol documentation. * Providegeneral clerical support to investigators. * Order and maintain log ofstipend checks and/or gift certificates to be distributed to studyparticipants. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills are essential. Excellent interpersonal skillsrequired. Strong problem solving and attentiveness to detail required.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced workenvironment. Ability to maintain confidentiality. High degree of comfortlearning and implementing computer software. Knowledge documentation andrecords management. Data utilization, complex problem solving, criticalthinking, resource management, and writing skills.
