Job Overview
Level 6 Surgical Inpatient Unit is a 72 bed unit encompassing three differentservice lines and 14 sub-specialties. With an impressive team comprised ofproviders, bachelor's prepared nurses, clinical assistants, mentalhealth counselors and inpatient service specialist, Level 6 prides itself onproviding excellent quality of care to its patients. Patients, includingtrauma, solid-organ transplant, burns, general surgery, plastics,urology, colorectal, bariatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, epilepsymonitoring, orthopedics and rehabilitation, receive state of the artinterventions and treatments, as well as specialized nursing care. Level 6nurses are hand-picked to care for primary specialty populations, for whichthey receive extensive specialized skills and content education and areencouraged to pursue specialty certifications. Due to the variety of patientsthat can been seen on Level 6, clinical nurses can expect to care for up to4 acutely ill patients that would normally be seen in a step-down unit. As aresult, Level 6 nurses exhibit exceptional time management and delegationskills. Low turnover rates and high employee engagement scores only elude tothe incredible teamwork and camaraderie of the clinical team. Level 6 offersan incredible opportunity to care for a variety of patients within aspecialty, while fulfilling the desire to critically think, challengeone's skills and make a life-long impression on the life of a patient andtheir family. Here...you are different.The Clinical Practice Specialist is a leader in advancing practice andexcellence, both within the nursing or behavioral health profession andwithin the context of collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, to improvepatient outcomes and systems of care. The position improves practice andpatient outcomes across the care continuum through implementation ofevidence-based care, consultation, research, education and establishingorganizational standards.Clinical Practice Specialist positions can have a focus in either the nursingpractice or the behavioral heal h practice. Expansive role focused onadvancing the practice of nursing through application of evidenced basedpractice, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Department: Level Six-SurgicalHours per week: 40, eligible for benefitsShift: Monday through Friday. Shift hours are mostly days, with swinginghours to accommodate night shift clinical practice and educational needs.
Qualifications
Education: Master of Science in Nursing if area of specialty is Nursing.Master of Arts or Master of Science in behavioral health related field if areaof specialty is Behavioral Health.Experience: 5 years clinical and pediatric experience.Certification(s):Advanced Life Support (ACLS, PALS) AND/OR other Certification(s)for specific roles may be required within 6 months of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American HeartAssociationANCC or Magnet approved clinical specialty or quality/safety focuscertification required within one year after hireMembership in a professional nursing, behavioral health or health careorganization.Licensure(s): Current Registered Nurse (RN) if area of specialty isNursing.
