Schedule:
Day shift, Monday through Friday; typically 8 hour shifts but can vary depending upon needs of department. The Clinical Pharmacist will be able to support hospital operations by serving in the main pharmacy for 2 shifts per month.

The Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmacy services to patients, physicians, and co-workers through accepted practices, policies, and legal requirements of federal and state regulations. The Pharmacist will provide clinical support services to support a full range of pharmacy operations. Central pharmacy activities include reviewing patient profiles at the time of dispensing medications, ensuring prescription directions are appropriate, and other duties related to pharmacist services. As a decentralized Pharmacist, you will work collaboratively with physicians and nurses to provide care to the patient. Daily activities include drug therapy monitoring, provision of drug information and drug distribution activities.
Our Clinical pharmacists provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to designated service areas or patient populations to achieve optimal patient outcomes and safety. They function as members of multidisciplinary teams to improve medication therapy management. These positions act as drug information resources and their responsibilities include age-specific and/or disease specific consultative medication therapy evaluation, education of both patients and other medical staff, research, and participation in quality improvement activities. This position is responsible for medication management in the Critical Care units, Critical Care processes within the hospital (rapid response/code), and Antimicrobial Stewardship (tracking, intervening, educating).
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of Pharmacy
A current Delaware license as a Registered Pharmacist.
Experience in hospital pharmacy practice required.
Good communication skills.
Strong human relations skills.
Strong computer and analytical skills.
PGY1 residency is required.
Preferred candidates will have:
PGY2 residency in Critical Care or Infectious Disease is strongly preferred.
Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy, Critical Care or Infectious Disease is preferred at hire, but required within 12 months of eligibility.
