  Job Overview

  The Clinical Education Specialist job description is in alignment with theAssociation of Nurses in Professional Development (ANPD). ANPD is thepractice and thought leader for nursing professional development and thespecialty practice organization upon which education specialists base theirprofessional activities. ANPD has identified six core standards of practiceon which this job description was heavily influenced: competencymanagement, education, role development, orientation/onboarding,research/EBP/QI, and collaborative partnerships.

  Qualifications

  Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Masters of Science inNursing (MSN) or equivalent with post-master's certification in educationExperience: 5 years of clinical pediatric experienceCertification(s): BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with atleast 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire, American NursesCredentialing Center(ANCC) or Magnet approved certification.Licensure(s): Current Colorado RN License

These examples do not include all of thefunctions which the employee may be expected to perform.Designs, coordinates, facilitates, onboarding and orientation programsfor licensed and unlicensed team members.Evaluates orientation and onboarding experiences to ensure newly hired teammembers are prepared to practice safely and independently.Mentors, develops, and evaluates preceptors to enhance learningexperiences for all new hires.Collaborative Partnerships: Demonstrates knowledge of effectivecommunication principles and pr motes communication among disciplines.Responds to diversity by recognizing, assessing, and adapting the natureof working relationships with other professionals and populations. Identifiesand mitigates deterrents to collaboration.Participates in shared decision making, effective team work, andrecognition of team and individual contributions.
