  Summary

  The Business Analytics Advisor will be responsible for supporting the analytics strategy for Medicare Health Services, performing reporting and analysis within the Clinical & Affordability Analytics team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Clinical Data Science & Care Management Analytics, the analytics advisor will analyze healthcare claims and clinical outcomes to detect areas of clinical opportunity, identify correlations and trends, and draw insights based on relevant findings. The Clinical & Affordability Analytics team seeks to provide operational and analytical support to our partners to improve customer care and affordability for Cigna Medicare. This role will help us accomplish this through advanced analytics, strategic insights from data mining, and collaboration with our internal partners.

  The Business Analytics Advisor will interface across multiple business areas, partnering with clinical leadership, care management operations, vendor clinical programs, and other departments as needed. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly motivated to independently complete technical projects, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment, effectively navigate evolving projects.

  Responsibilities

  Perform data mining to identify, analyze and interpret trends, patterns, correlations, and outliers in data sets through descriptive and multivariate statistics

  Extract and analyze large healthcare claims data

  Utilize statistical software to perform data mining and analyses

  Utilize visualization tools to create advanced, interactive dashboards

  Translate technical results into actionable insights

  Present results and solutions to non-technical business partners and stakeholders to drive the decision-making process

  Independently develop project charters, timelines, and deliverables and communicate these to matrix partners

  Work collaboratively and partner with departments across the organization to ensure deliverables are accomplished

  Qualifications

  3+ years’ of healthcare-related data/analytics experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches

  Statistical Methodology experience (significance testing, regression analysis, etc.) required

  Proficiency with statistical programming tools such as SQL, Python, SAS/SAS EG and/or R required

  Experience with visualization software required (Tableau preferred)

  Comprehension of healthcare data (e.g., ICD-10, claims, utilization, provider information) and demonstrated understanding of health care and delivery system processes

  Experience with diverse healthcare data preferred, including claims, EHR, demographic, exercise, pharmacy, lab, biometrics, genomic, and text

  Experience working with medical cost trends and industry benchmarking preferred

  Experience in data mining large datasets for patterns, anomalies, and clinical opportunity

  Provide a strong customer focus though ability to collaborate with others and establish working relationships, communicate effectively, act strategically, influence key leaders and manage stakeholder expectations

  If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

  For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 89,900 - 149,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

  This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
