　　Distinguishing features of the Class: This is manual work involving cleaning of residential rooms and office environments, including buildings, offices, work areas, recreation rooms, floor lounges, elevator interiors, bathroom facilities, equipment and furniture. Such work includes, but is not limited to, sweeping, dusting, floor stripping, vacuuming, washing, polishing floors and walls, disposing of trash, and minimal snow shoveling. Direct supervision is received from an assigned supervisor. The Cleaner performs related work as required.

　　Typical Work Activities: * Keeps premises of buildings in a clean and orderly condition * Sweeps, mops, strips, vacuums floors, and dusts furniture * Cleans public lavatories, fixtures, tile, floors, etc. * Washes windows, light globes, lenses, etc. * Empties refuse receptacles; replenishes rest room supplies * Makes certain windows and doors are properly secures * Keeps all public area in a clean and orderly condition * Performs minor grounds trash policing * Preform minor snow shoveling
