  Claims Manager

  Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Claims & Deductions Manager to join our Pork division at our Corporate office in Greeley, Colorado. In this role, you will find resolutions to complex notifications of discrepancies that may be reported by customers, truck lines, plant personnel, sales, field reps, customer service, etc. These notifications may be in regard to product, truck line, freezer, invoicing, or AP/AR discrepancies. In this role, you will make decisions to mitigate losses for JBS in an efficient and effective manner while being able to sustain good relationships with all parties. You will be able to aide parties in making decisions, support the team in solving complex issues involving multiples parties, report to senior management on claims and deductions data and prepare recommendations in order to reduce JBS exposure. Our ideal candidate must have analytical and technical abilities as it pertains to reporting and data analysis. You must be able to be fair and stay focused on the facts of the claim or deduction.

  Responsibilities:

  Manage a team of 5 to optimal performance, including 2 direct reports

  Create and achieve KPI goals for claims and deductions team.

  Report and analyze claim data in order to reduce claims. (Data Analyst experience a plus)

  Process and close claims.

  Submit bills in need of payment as a result of claims.

  Maintain the claims annual report and make recommendations for improvement.

  Provide training for sales team or plant team on claim/deductions procedures.

  Facilitate claims meeting coordinating all plants.

  Travel to perform claims audits at plant locations and facilitate claim training.

  Update claim policy for carriers and customers as needed.

  Continue to design specific claim needs in any new SAP platforms.

  Follow all Standard Operation Procedures in determining the liability of claims.

  Review legal documentation and determine if the parties involved have provided the required information to process a claim. Aide in any litigation of claims.

  Update and maintain approval levels for all claims.

  Enter claims in SAP to be processed, work in Excel, Order Management, and several other programs.

  Know the plant process, accounts receivable process, accounts payable process, and many other functions of the pork team in order to mitigate losses quickly.

  Keep detailed records and accounts of all claims, deductions and DSO.

  Communicate the JBS policy to appropriate parties, including USDA, outside adjusters, sales, customer service, carriers, insurance agencies, attorneys etc.

  Resolve issues and respond to communications quickly.

  Present data and recommendations to executive team.

  Work with IT in regard to program development and functionality.

  Review carrier documentation and ensure fulfillment of contractual requirements.

  Other duties as assigned

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business strongly preferred, or equivalent claims experience.

  Excellent phone, computer, organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  Extremely organized.

  Self-driven to learn and adapt quickly.

  Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

  As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.

  The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits :

  Benefits : Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  Paid Time Off : sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

  401(k) : company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

  Base salary range of $55,000-$73,000 ; and

  Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;

  For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in states where it is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for any given position, compensation ranges are specific to those states and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
