　　Roles and Responsibilities:

　　The Claim Investigator is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and negotiating property damage and bodily/personal injury claims for the NJ TRANSIT Bus Division.

　　This position also handles non-litigated and litigation claims.

　　Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

　　Must be a graduate of a four-year college/university and have a minimum of two years experience in general liability claim investigation, adjusting and negotiating.

　　Must have knowledge of medical/legal terminology and have good written and verbal communication skills in dealing with the public.

　　Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and be able to travel independently throughout the State of New Jersey.

　　Must have demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

　　Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills.

　　Must have demonstrated ability to plan and organize efficiently.

　　Must demonstrate ability to negotiate in adversarial setting.

　　Must be able to prepare accurate reports.

　　Must demonstrate aptitude for evaluating liability and exposure.

　　Must be able to work independently within the guidelines of Risk Management procedures and the Union contract.

　　Must be willing and able to work in the field in all kinds of weather conditions and beyond normal work hours.

　　This is a full time agreement position. This position reports to the office daily. The successful candidate will be required to join the union which represents the position.
