Kennedy Jenks is seeking a dynamic Water/Wastewater Civil CAD Designer tojoin our multidisciplinary team in our Lakewood (Denver), Coloradooffice. This person will be a part of the CAD Team and will work on the designand delivery of a variety of projects both locally and nationally.
Key Responsibilities:
In the role as Water/Wastewater CAD Designer you will use your site civilexperience of facilities relating to water, wastewater, recycled water,utility infrastructure, conveyance, and process modifications to provideengineering and environmental solutions to our clients. The ideal candidatewill be able to produce and develop CAD drawings, understand projectworkflow and exercise independent judgement. Drawing elements include sitelayout and design for horizontal control and paving plans, grading anddrainage plans, yard piping, and erosion control for water,wastewater, and recycled water projects including water transmissionpipelines, sanitary sewer collection systems, tanks/reservoirs, pumpstations and treatment facilities.
Ability to prepare 3D models and layouts from design concepts using AutoCADCivil 3D.
Under general direction, performs advanced drafting and design tasks inaccordance with company, client, and industry standards.
Coordinate multiple, large, and/or complex projects with otherengineering disciplines to assist in the delivery of construction documentsmeeting scope, schedule, and budget.
Communicate with supervisor, senior designers, and engineers regardingtask execution.
Perform engineering calculations, research vendor data, and check for codecompliance.
Apply company software and IT tools consistently and coordinate with otherproject team members.
Identify conflicts in design and communicate solutions with PMs.
Serve as CAD Lead on mid to large-sized projects.
Mentor team members on Design Delivery workflow and best practices.
Review the work of others when needed prior to delivery to the internalclient.
Qualifications:
7 or more years experience with site civil and pipeline plan/profiledevelopment.
Ability to use various drafting design-related software including, but notlimited to, AutoCAD C3D, Infraworks, ProjectWise, Bluebeam REVU, andMicrosoft Products. MicroStation and OpenRoads are a plus.
Adequate understanding of land surveying, code requirements, and industrystandards where applicable.
Knowledge and understanding of site civil and site piping engineeringprinciples including grading, drainage, volumetric calculations, sitelayout, and underground utility systems.
Ability to interact, collaborate and communicate with multidisciplinaryproject teams in a positive and proactive manner.
Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering construction drawings.
