　　**[DESCRIPTION[Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager, the City Engineer manages the activities of the Engineering Services Department, which includes the Engineering, Inspections, and Planning Divisions. Work includes, but is not limited to, oversight of development review and construction permitting ensuring technical compliance with all current codes, ordinances, and criteria; acting as a project manager; planning, designing, and directing construction and maintenance of municipal facilities, and development and implementation of the Capital Improvements Program.
