  About the role

  Kerry Inc. seeks Continuous Improvement Manager at its facility located at 1711 N Liberty St, Harrisonburg, VA, 22802.

  Job Duties

  Develop and implement an effective CI strategy that encompasses all site functions as Continuous Improvement Manager. Ensure this strategy meets the goals of the site and overall business strategy ensuring all stakeholders are engaged as Continuous Improvement Manager. Continually review and adjust the strategy in line with internal and external changes as Continuous Improvement Manager. (15%) Plan all site activities on a master schedule and hold others accountable to the timelines to ensure the on-time delivery of the strategy as Continuous Improvement Manager. (5%) Identify & deliver margin enhancing cost optimization initiatives as Continuous Improvement Manager. Design & implement the of ways of working & behaviors to sustain initiatives captured as Continuous Improvement Manager. Create & embed a 'cost ownership' mentality within the team as Continuous Improvement Manager. (15%) Ensure the site key performance indicators (KPI's) (Safety, Quality, Service and Cost) are achieved through a rigorous performance management system. Implement the standard meeting governance that supports delivery of the metrics as Continuous Improvement Manager. Identify performance gaps, trends and actions required to improve as Continuous Improvement Manager. Align the site KPI structure with functional and global metrics as Continuous Improvement Manager. Support the establishment of floor level metrics within the KPI tree as Continuous Improvement Manager. (20%) Act as a change agent, coaching, mentoring and influencing at all levels to affect the required CI culture as Continuous Improvement Manager. Act as a key member and influencer within the site leadership team as Continuous Improvement Manager. (10%) Facilitate the education of the team in the principles, philosophies and tools of CI as Continuous Improvement Manager. Administer training programs that foster cross-functional deployment of continuous improvement as Continuous Improvement Manager. Develop, train and mentor employees to foster a strong culture of continuous improvement as Continuous Improvement Manager. (10%) Collaborate with counterparts within and outside the regions to ensure consistency among processes and procedures as Continuous Improvement Manager. Drive the standardization of all structures, work, training, procedures & records across the plant as Continuous Improvement Manager. Ensure the new standard is documented, trained & confirmed when improvements are made to processes as Continuous Improvement Manager. Conduct ongoing reviews of the plant's continuous improvement performance to understand level of maturity as Continuous Improvement Manager. (10%) Create plans and engage with the leadership team to close any gaps identified. Develop and implement an effective CI strategy that encompasses all site functions as Continuous Improvement Manager.

  Requirements

  This position requires a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Business management or a related field, plus five years of experience in continuous improvement or business development. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) Subject Matter Expert Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence and its application in a large scale regulated manufacturing facility / facilities. (2) Coaching & mentoring site team members to utilize Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence tools through instilling trust, driving vision & purpose, ensuring accountability and demonstrating a strategic mindset. (3) Utilizing Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence problem solving skills (e.g. 5 why analysis, fishbone analysis, 8 step problem solving) and coaching skills (ability to influence through others) to empower and enable all team members to effectively problem solve within their working environment, thus creating the foundation of continuous improvement. (4) Utilizing Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence strategic planning skills (multi-level master schedule creation), to create and / or enable the creation through others, of site, departmental and project-based master schedules for all plant activity. (5) Utilizing cross functional process knowledge (Health & Safety, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and Quality) to effectively implement the Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence across all functions and develop process maturity over a defined time period. (15%) Telecommuting permitted.
