Job Summary
Employees in positions assigned to this level participate in theimplementation of the total childcare program of the facility, workingin cooperation with other Associates and under general supervision fromhigher-level personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities
Curriculum
Participate in planning and carry out appropriate activities promotingthe intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of thechildren in accordance with licensing requirements and NAEYC standards.
Maintain daily communication and cooperation with parents of children(such as child\'s mental and physical condition, changes in dailyschedule, or child\'s participation in activities).
Under the supervision and with the support of the Head Teacher, preparereports on the growth and development of assigned children inpreparation for parent-teacher conferences.
Care for classroom equipment and materials and performs necessaryhousekeeping tasks.
Cooperate with research activities by providing information or directingthe children to participate in a requested activity.
Participate in staff meetings with higher level personnel and workcooperatively with other staff members.
Daily Caregiving
Supervise children to safeguard their health and safety.
Provide for the physical needs of the children (such as supervisingfeeding, dressing, naps, and other activities).
Adult Supervision
Participate in training and evaluation of student staff.
Substitute for higher level personnel, if needed and qualified.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Sixty semester hours of credits from an accredited college oruniversity with six semester in courses related directly to child careand/or child development, from birth to age six;
OR
One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nurseryschool, indergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours(or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college oruniversity with six semester hours in courses related directly to childdevelopment, from birth to age six;
OR
Completion of credentialing programs approved by the Department inaccordance with Appendix G of this Part. g) Persons who were deemedqualified as a childcare worker or school-age worker prior to January 1,1985, continue to be deemed qualified as an early childhood teacher orschool-age worker.
Possession of credentials required by Illinois Department of Childrenand Family Services for employment as a Child Care Worker in a licensedchildcare facility
