Job Summary
The Community Violence Intervention Leadership Academy (CVILA) Chief ofStaff supports the CVILA Executive Director with strategicdecision-making, project management, and execution of strategicinitiatives, and special projects. The CVILA Chief of Staff provides theorganizational and communication framework for stakeholders, employees,and leadership team members to implement the projects vision and achieveshort and long-term goals. This role manages administrative operationswithin the CVILA by organizing workflow, ensuring effective execution ofstaff goals, and collaborating across the community, ensuring the CVILAExecutive Director is briefed. The Chief of Staff will overseeday-to-day functions and implement the project vision. They willcultivate relationships, maintain credibility with diverseconstituencies, and inspire others across the organization. The CVILAChief of Staff will serve as a thought partner, working closely with theExecutive Director to develop and communicate the vision for the Academyand implement strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
Guides the implementation of a programmatic strategy for theCommunity Violence Intervention Leadership Academy initiatives,including a staffing and operations plan, in partnership with theCVILA Executive Director and other Crime Lab senior leadership.Oversees day-to-day CVI Leadership Academy initiatives operationsand monitoring of strategic plans.In consult with CVILA Executive Director, lead CVILA management andoperations functions, including business planning, financialmanagement, new business development, and strategic partnerships.Manages internal and external communication flows on behalf of theED, serving as the communication extension, managing informationflow, filtering work/requests, and facilitating internal andexternal stakeholder communications.Serves as a thought partner for the CVILA Executive Director.Promotes team integration and cross-functional communication andcollaboration, serving as a point of contact and resource for CVLIAstaff, facilitating cross-functional initiatives andproblem-solving.Supervise CVILA program staff to ensure effective execution ofprogram goals and benchmarks.Gathers information, provides analysis and recommendations tosupport executive decision-making and leads preparation of reportsand communications materials.Maintains knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, andprocesses.Iden ifies and addresses operational gaps and inefficiencies.Supports budget oversight and management, research new funding andbusiness development opportunities, maintains and buildsrelationships with funders and other strategic partners.Manages program operations and administrative functions which mayinclude planning and scheduling, program evaluation, policyimplementation, personnel administration, budget, marketing,fundraising and proposal development.Manages the dissemination, interpretation and application of programpolicies and recommends or makes exceptions.Contributes to design of program content, policies and strategicplanning efforts.Perform other related work as needed.Minimum Qualifications
