Description
Fluidra is seeking a Full-Time Chem- Make Chemist at our Taylor Water Technologies location in Sparks, MD.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Work will be coordinated with both the Department Manager and the Production Controller. Responsible for performing batch preparation, following a predetermined recipe to mix or produce reagents, and monitoring the quality of finished goods produced in the bottling department.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate mixing equipment for the blending and compounding of raw materials to produce specific liquid and powder reagents
Ensure quality of reagents using lab equipment and perform tests on products to make sure they meet standards and specifications
Follow safety policies and procedures when handling chemicals to include proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Record all data on batch prep sheets and production in the ERP system
Interface with ERP system and Department Manager to ensure accurate inventory of raw ingredients
Inspecting the accuracy and quality of finished goods produced on the automatic and semi-automatic bottling lines
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with safety procedures and rules.
Contributes to the team effort by working where needed in the plant
Must be able to work extended hours when required and stand for long periods
Requirements
Associate degree in Chemistry, an applied science, or related field
Impeccable organizational and cleanliness skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong Computer skills
General mathematical knowledge
Self-motivated
Able to perform under tight deadlines
Knowledgeable about fire, safety, and chemical hazards.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Standing for long periods
Preferred Qualifications :
Lab or production experience
ERP experience
Mechanical aptitude
BS in Chemistry
