Responsibilities:
The Chapter Lead - Data Hub guides technology direction across product teams, builds and maximizes the capabilities and skills within the chapter, and manages and supports Data Product Leads on execution within an Agile framework. The Chapter Lead is responsible for the development and growth of their Chapter members and building of competencies. They are responsible for team composition optimization, for reviewing priorities and assessing resource and or backlog redirection, for metrics associated with talent evolution, and for all other administrative responsibilities within the Chapter. The Chapter Lead acts as practice leader who engages with product owners as technical SME.
Talent Sourcing: Assess temporary and/or permanent candidates for opportunities on product teams to augment team capacity and/or skills. Maintain and refine the interview process and associated material to align with current and future product and technology needs. Work with strategic workforce lead to identify optimal sourcing options. Develop and monitor staffing approach and maintain a budget for contingent labor.
Talent Development: Proactively identify future skill and capacity needs by monitoring product backlogs and product and technology roadmaps. Institute and manage technical training aligned with these needs. Assess the state of technical capabilities and team health within the organization to assess gaps and plan for future development. Mentor and develop staff. Ensure execution and consistency of performance assessments, compensation, and promotions across chapters.
Design, Development, and Execution Best Practices: Partner with solution architects, enterprise architects, Data Product Leads, and other stakeholders on continuing to define and refine patterns & standards for the DataHub product. Ensure the development process is methodical, roles are clear, and handoffs are effective, and adhere to agile methologies.
Strategic Product Planning: Partner with team members, customer teams, enterprise architects, and other stakeholders to maintain quarterly plans for addressing product needs, managing technical debt, and implementing evolving technology.
Cross Team Problem Solving: Partner with Chapter Leads and Product Owners to adjust team makeup and backlog assignment across chapters to ensure skills and capacity align with priorities as established by the product organization. Support Product Owners on the team in negotiating priority and resource conflicts
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering or equivalent
7 years’ Experience in data product development, data architecture, and managing technology vendor relationships
Experience defining process for and conducting interviewing, hiring and personnel assessment.
Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing highly motivated technical leaders
Experience influencing
Strong communication skills to provide guidance and education on new technical or soft skill concepts and practices to chapter leads and team members
Ability to provide clear and direct communication regarding performance and skill development
Proven skills in coaching in the areas of performance, standards and work methods, including the development of chapter leads or other technical leaders
Proven ability to resolve conflicts across teams and disciplines (mediation skills)
Ability to organize events (theme meetings, hackathons) in the subject area
Ability to create an atmosphere of trust and a comfortable and efficient work environment.

The hiring range for this position dependent on final grade and title is $130,700 to $187,800 USD. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience. The position is eligible to participate in FM Global’s comprehensive Total Rewards program that includes an incentive plan, generous health and well-being programs, a 401(k) and pension plan, career development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, flexible work, time off allowances and much more.
