The Chaplain serves as a role model for Maple Grove Hospital's values and guiding principles. Requirements Education * Master's degree in theology, religion and/or divinity from an accredited institution. * Ecclesiastical endorsement and accountability to a recognized religious authority within one year of hire. * A minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Clinical training. Experience * Two years of pastoral experience required, preferably in a health care setting. * Exemplary listener with excellent interpersonal skills and possess a friendly, compassionate and approachable demeanor. * Demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully across cultures and with persons of different faiths. * Perform at a high standard of ethical behavior, professionalism and confidentiality. * Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment. * Ability to work effectively in stressful situations while maintaining a calm demeanor. * Perform independently with flexibility and able to manage multiple priorities. * Ability to work many non-traditional hours, including night, holidays and weekends. * Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both in written and oral form), clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience. * Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a positive manner.
