JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties Serves as a certified Chaplain (ACPE) providingcomprehensive, religious ministry services and training to Veteranpatients and students according to their specific needs. Carries out aneducation ministry with the ACPE Center, which is highly integrated intoVHA\'s Chaplain program. Provides thorough guidance and advice toChaplain Service management staff, students, other Chaplains, andstakeholders. Manages the daily operations of the ACPE Center anddevelops and implements program policies and procedures. Serves as acertified educator of record for all ACPE students for an assigneddesignated area. Provides administrative oversight and programmaticresources and monitors educational outcomes. Offers students anopportunity to develop and expand professional caring skills in aclinical setting to address a person\'s spiritual, emotional, andphysical needs; and offers students experience with hands-on spiritualcare for hospitalized patients. Maintains records for all educatorevaluations, student records, center portfolio, and ACPE accreditationrequirements, which may include off-site ACPE satellite and placementcontracts. Seeks approval for allied health trainee positions throughthe Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA). Conducts recruitment andinterviews and selects students for the ACPE program. Ensures alldocumentation is completed for compliance. Develops educationalcurricula that are measurable, outcome-oriented, and evidence-based anddesigned to meet board certification competencies. Provides extended andintensive pastoral counseling as an integral part of the treatmentprogram with patients facing complex, ethical, moral, and/or spiritualissues. Provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching,in-service training, staff development, and continuing educationprograms. Conducts comprehensive religious services and worship,pastoral ministry, and administration of Chaplain services. Addressesthe religious, spiritual, moral, and ethical problems of patients andstaff through educational means.
