　　The Family Birthing Technician performs basic patient care and clerical/administrative activities while functioning in a surgical technologist CST role under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Care will include patient care before and after birth, assisting caregivers in births, (e.g. scrubbing for procedures: Caesarean, Natural, etc.), safe and timely transport of patients. Scrub on C-Sections, restore supplies, turnover C-Section OR equipment.

　　In conjunction with the RN, conducts accurate sponge, needle and instruments count according to departmental policies. Handles all surgical specimens appropriately.Understands and assists in the sanitation requirements of the operating room. Develops and maintains working knowledge of provided services unique to each surgeon to provide optimal support for each procedure.Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possibly taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.Performs designated sterile and aseptic procedures using proper technique (i.e., venipuncture and phlebotomy, IV insertions, and foley insertions). Maintains sterile field while handling instruments during procedures.Who We Are:
