Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director, Maternal/Child Department, and Charge Nurse, Labor and Delivery, and the direct supervision of a Registered

Nurse, the Surgical Technician in Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing surgical scrub on obstetric and gynecological procedures

What you will do in this role:

The Surgical Technologist provides technical services, assists in operating room and provides care for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

The Surgical Technician is responsible for preparing the operating rooms for surgery and for performing central sterile skills using appropriate techniques.

The Surgical Technician is responsible for maintaining the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties, processing physician orders and requisitioning supplies, equipment and services from other departments.

What qualifications you will need:

Completion of a Surgical Technology program is required

Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required

American Heart Association BLS certification is required

One year of Surgical Technologist experience is preferred
