Description:
Provides assistance as necessary to surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, anticipating and passing surgical instruments, medical supplies and equipment, maintaining aseptic fields and technique and providing retraction under the direction of the surgeon. QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Minimum Completion of an accrediated Surgical Technologist program;or six years of surgical tech experience.
Preferred Associate of Applied Science Surgical Technology.
Credentials/Licensure
Minimum Completion from an accrediated Surgical Technologist program; or six years of surgical technologist experience.
Certification or re-certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within one month of hire.
Preferred Certified Surgical Technologists.
Related Experience
Minimum N/A
Preferred One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum Demonstrates competency to provide care within the assigned unit and patient population served, as described in the scope of practice/care. Basic knowledge of mathematics and problem solving skills acquired through a combination of education and experience.
Computer Competency
Familiarity with standard desktop and windows based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions.
Physical/Mental
Minimum Continuous standing, pulling, frequent lifting, occasional bending, stooping and twisting movement (90% of time). Ability to perform continuously detailed tasks with frequent interruptions and work re-prioritization (50% of time).
