FTE: 0.600000 Shift: Shift 1 Schedule: Staff member willwork six 8-hour shifts (7am-3:30pm) every 2 weeks including every otherweekend and rotating holidays. Job Summary: The Certified NursingAssistant (CNA), under the direction and supervision of a RegisteredNurse, provides delegated age-appropriate care in a culturally andethnically sensitive manner. The CNA assists patients with the tasksoutlined in their clinical competency assessment related to basicnursing skills, personal care skills and basic restorative services. TheCNA practices and performs what was taught during their CNA training andcertification or learned during basic nursing courses at an accreditedschool for professional nurses. The CNA may be asked to providecontinuous safety observation. This job reports to the NurseManager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on dutyon each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:High School diploma or equivalent is required. Incumbents in theposition prior to October 1, 2007, may substitute this educationalrequirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write andcommunicate complicated verbal and written communications at a levelnormally acquired through completion of a high school education.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Nursing AssistantCertification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in anursing program and able to provide documentation from an accreditedschool for professional nurses indicating successful completion of thebasic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by theState of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of oneacute care medical/surgical clinical rotation. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS)or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
