The Boardman Residence is a 45-room licensed residential care home offering assistance with medication management, bathing, laundry, housekeeping and three meals a day all included in one fee. Respite stays are available as are rehabilitation therapy and other ancillary services such as podiatry, dentistry, beautician, and a primary care clinic, all on-site. Adult Day services are also available on site. This area at Mary Wade is licensed and funded by the State of Connecticut. Our resident population is primarily seniors with varying levels of acuity.

Hiring for the following position:
Every Other WeekendHourly Rate: $17/hr
Job Responsibilities:
Administers medications to residents of the Residential Care Home while overseeing Resident Associate duties
Satisfactorily completes medication competency
Medications are given to residents within one (1) hour of assigned time or specified time.
Observes residents for expected side effects of medication and has knowledge of potential hazards of medications and applies applicable precautions.
Accurately administers prn medications.
Assess residents physical status prior to giving medication.
Accurately documents MAR, doctor’s orders, as indicated
Observes residents to ensure physically able to take medications and takes appropriate action.
Exercises immediate guidance, assigns and allocates work to Resident Associates
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Current Connecticut Certification of Unlicensed Staff to Administer Medications
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Long Term Care Skilled Nursing Facility and/or Residential Care Home
Sensitivity to the needs of the elderly in a healthcare setting.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Previous experience with senior with Advanced Alzheimer’s and Dementia Patients a plus
