　　United Health Services is seeking a Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician to join our Core Lab Team in Johnson City, NY. The Clinical Laboratory Technician performs clinical and/or anatomical analysis for routine, special, and automated tests. This is a BENEFITS-ELIGIBLE position.

　　Shift: VariesHours per week: 40

　　Under Supervision of the section supervisor, performs routine and specialized tests in clinical or pathology laboratory section in a timely manner according to UHS , Hospitals’, Infection Control, Laboratory and Departmental Policies and procedures, NYSDOH , CDC Blood and Body Fluids policies and procedures. Priority is given to STAT testing and to tests that require immediate processing.

　　The Laboratory Services Department at UHS Wilson Medical Center operates at a high volume and offers the most testing options among all of United Health Services’ laboratories. The lab serves both inpatient and outpatient needs at UHS Wilson Medical Center.

　　Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician Key Responsibilities and Expectations

　　Performs clinical and/or anatomical analyses for routine, special and automated tests. Obtains data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease as outlined in the procedure manual and as assigned by the section supervisor in section assigned.

　　Recognizes abnormal results and takes proper action (alert/critical values).

　　Observes reactions and makes qualitative or quantitative analyses . Posts results in LIS or on appropriate reports.

　　Performs related computer functions such as entry, verification, retrieval of results and special workload recording.

　　Performs and documents quality control and preventive maintenance on designated laboratory equipment.

　　Obtains laboratory specimens, (blood, urine and other body fluids) directly from patients as trained.

　　Participates in quality improvement efforts and assignments.

　　Position Qualifications

　　Minimum:

　　Associates Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent ( NYS Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician)

　　New York State Certified Clinical Laboratory Technician

　　Preferred:

　　One year of Clinical Laboratory experience
