SUMMARY: Casella Waste Systems in Auburn is seeking to fill severalfull-time permanent CDL APPRENTICE positions who will hold a commercialdriving permit and complete the federally required Commerical DriverLicense (CDL) instruction and training to safely operate a coommercialmotor vehicle providing service to customers in their respective line ofbusiness (LOF) while working alongside a knowledgeable trainer. Theincumbent will continue in the apprentice role until all trainingrequirements are completed and they have passed the CDL licensing examand road test. The Casella Driver Career Path includes the driver levelsof Apprentice, Class I Driver, Class II Driver, Class III Driver, andLead Driver. DUTIES: \ Performpre/post trip inspections of assigned vehicle in accordance with companysafety standards as well as state and federal regulations; ensure allsafety equipment and devices are operational and secured properly invehicle; maintain appearance of truck in accordance with companystandards \ Perform and exhibit dedication to safe operation of rollrear load, front load, side load, roll off trucks on streets, highways,customer sites, and construction sites \ Provide a distinguishablydifferent level of service through courteous interactions with allcustomers and provides service in a timely manner; exhibit a positiveattitude towards company, customer and municipal goals \ Follow routeassignments and complete end-of-day documentation; complete all assignedcompany and federally-mandated paperwork accurately \ Complete assignedroute sheet for one Line of Business (LOB); empty all receptacles; placebins serviced at any location back where they were picked up in theupright position; and clean area around accidental waste spills \Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs and meetingsas required by company or Manager \ Notify Dispatch immediately of anycustomer requests, service interruptions, incidents, accidents, propertydamage, or unsafe situations \ Always exhibit an ability to beobservant and aware of surroundings and mindful of all laborers on thetruck; \ Demonstrate an ability to use problem solving skills \ Assistdriver with all backing maneuvers while on route \ Participate intraining and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of thecompany, products, sales and services and perform any other dutiesneeded to help drive company vision, fulfill its mission, and/or abideby its core values REQUIREMENTS: \ High School Diploma/GED; min. age18, and legally eligible to work in US \ Hold a state-issued standardDCL Driver Class B Permit with air brake endorsement \ Must havepositive attitude and team-oriented who is disciplined, dependable,determined, and focused on excellent customer service \ Must haveexcellent verbal/written communication, listening and problem-solvingskills and ability to work as part of a team in a collaborativeenvironment; be open to personal and professional training anddevelopment \ Must have phycial capability to handle objects 50 lbs.+frequently throught the shift under many different weather conditions \Must be able to pass pre-employment testing, physical, and drug screen
